Singapore – one of the best places in the world to work

Singapore is now the fourth most desirable place to work and live in the world according to a new survey by recruitment firm Hydrogen and business school ESCP Europe.

One of the main reasons cited is the increase in multinational companies moving into Singapore over the past decade. Singapore is increasingly becoming the Silicon Valley of Asia. This is due in no small part to Singapore’s standing as one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world and the fact that it’s so easy to set-up and run a business there.

“We have seen companies from sectors as diverse as technology, energy, pharmaceutical and wealth management open offices here.” said Simon Walker, Hydrogen’s Asia MD.

Singapore is becoming such a hub for international talent that employers in the city state now have the pick of the world’s top professional talent.

Mr Walker said: “Singapore has one of the lowest crime rates in the world, and it offers a clean and healthy environment free from traffic pollution.”

The report also showed that the workforce was becoming more international, with 72 percent of respondents said their employers see international experience as important or very important, up from 63 percent in 2011.

Why Global Lingo chose Singapore

The report by Hydrogen and ESCP Europe backs up Global Lingo’s decision to open our office in Singapore. There’s a massive need for translation and interpreting services, as more and more businesses use the country as their international hub.

Our experienced team in Singapore are already helping some of the largest organisations in Asia with their translation and interpreting needs and they’re more than happy to talk to anyone moving into Singapore or any other part of Asia.
