News – Going Global
2008.03.16

Today’s Sunday Times offers advice for companies looking to expand their business internationally. As it observes, one of the biggest barriers to going global is language, as it is crucial to address international clients in their own language. According to a recent IDC study, web users are four times more likely to purchase from a site in their own language. However, businesses are warned that translation errors can be costly; Colgate, for example, introduced a toothpaste in France called Cue, which was also the name of a French adult magazine. Global Lingo has the in-country experience to avoid such pitfalls of business translation, so if you are interested in expanding your business in international markets please don’t hesitate to contact us.
