Working with BSL Interpreters
BSL doesn’t have corresponding signs for every English word, so the interpreter has to convey the meaning of some words.
Here are some tips to ensure the meeting runs smoothly.
- Only one message can be interpreted at a time. So, it’s vital that only one person speaks or signs at a time.
- Allow more time for meetings requiring BSL interpreting to ensure that all points can be conveyed.
- For meetings and events longer than 2 hours at least two interpreters are needed.
